Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth start erupting into the mouth between the ages of 16 and 25.

While they can erupt uneventfully or stay unerupted through a lifetime, wisdom teeth (third molars) are sometimes the cause of infection, inflammation, pain, sore gums, misalignment of teeth, cheek bites and other problems. In such cases, wisdom teeth often need to be surgically removed.
