Root Canal Therapy

This treatment is carried out to save a tooth that has an infected or severely inflammed or dead nerve, often seen in deep cavities, cracked teeth or teeth that have undergone trauma.

Root canal therapy can take one or more visits to complete. Some medication may be advised around the time of treatment. Following the completion of the root canal procedure, a core filling (occasionally with a retention post) is placed to build up the foundation and fill the cavity in the tooth. This is followed by placing a crown on the tooth.
